My wife tells me Skywalker is the new name for Jedi.

The Jedi are all extinct. The Jedi order, the council, the formal school, training, and concepts of Master / Apprentice are all gone and dead..

Now? Anyone can have The Force. It doesn’t have to be in your blood. There’s a new breed out there of people that just have abilities.

These people will be known as... Skywalkers. Named for the legendary last family of the Jedi Order that fought for... whatever they fought for..

True or not, that’s what rumors are. Sadly it’s believable.

The original owner should have kept hold of his work and written out the original story lines, but all he wanted to do was make experimental films about the 50's and Buck Rogers and one turned into to Gold and THAT was all he saw ever after. Because the Gold side of the force gets almost all of them all the time, like Abu seeing a giant jewel.

Imho, this theory would make it more enjoyable for me, compared to the Rey being Lukes daughter timeline...and it actually makes sense if you put it with Luke at the beginning of the trailer saying '1000 generations live within you now. Kind of like the changing of the guard from Jedi to 'Skywalker'.

Hadnt read that yet, thanks. Kind of gives me a new hope for the movie.

Disney are marketing experts, theyre not gonna give the whole plot away in the title. If anything, the title should be a big indicator that Rey is NOT Lukes daughter.
