Isaiah 42:8 I am Jehovah: that is my name: and my glory will I not give to another, neither my praise to graven images.

Isaiah 42:11 For mine own sake, even for mine own sake, will I do it : for how should my name be polluted? and I will not give my glory unto another.

Exactly, now honor the Father only. Because all else is idolatry. The Bible tells you how pagans end ...

Way to miss the point heretic! The OT texts I quoted say Jehovah will not share His glory, yet there He is, in your verse John 8:54, glorifying Jesus.. scratching

Also Jehovah is Set/Satan..
In the tradition of the exodus, for example, Yahweh is depicted as both a storm god and a warrior (see Exod 15) —features that are also present in the Egyptian Baal-Seth.

So WHO did these things? Not Jesus. The FATHER did.

thou hast given

 Quoting: TheLordsServant

I don't disagree, but that's kinda' beside the point and doesn't answer either of my questions. Which are:

In light of verses like Isaiah 42:8 why does Jehovah give His glory to Jesus?
 Quoting: DREADN0T

Old Testament is "pre-Jesus", meaning that the Father hadn't introduced His only begotten Son to the human world yet.

People will argue that "God doesn't change", yet this isn't a "change" to the NATURE of God.

It's something "new", and there are several instances in the OT when the Father does something "new".

Jesus, as the only begotten Son of God, gets glory from the Father simply because He IS the Son OF God (John 17).

Proof of my points? In Matthew 28, after His resurrection, Jesus tells the Apostles that He has been "given" authority over heaven and earth.

Matthew 28:18 And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth.

The "authority" is something "new" - that Jesus didn't have previously.

If there is no Savior beside Jehovah why is Jesus repeatedly called Savior?
 Quoting: DREADN0T

Thread: ONE Gospel - FROM God - THRU Jesus - Taught by ALL of the Apostles - NOT Just Paul - Bible Study

And here's a 3rd question for you: In light of verses like Deut. 6:13-14, Psalms 81:9, and Matt. 4:10, why does Jesus repeatedly accept worship (even from the apostles) without rebuking any the same way He did satan?
 Quoting: DREADN0T

Because the Father ALLOWS it. Jesus tells us in...

John 5:23 That all men should honour the Son, even as they honour the Father. He that honoureth not the Son honoureth not the Father which hath sent him.

11Say to them: ‘As surely as I live, declares the Lord GOD, I take no pleasure in the death of the wicked, but rather that the wicked should turn from their ways and live. Turn! Turn from your evil ways! For why should you die, O house of Israel?’ 12Therefore, son of man, say to your people: ‘The righteousness of the righteous man will not deliver him in the day of his transgression; neither will the wickedness of the wicked man cause him to stumble on the day he turns from his wickedness. Nor will the righteous man be able to survive by his righteousness on the day he sins.’

These are ALL from the "infallible" KJV.

Psalm 83:18 That men may know that thou, whose name alone is JEHOVAH, art the most high over all the earth.

Here's a couple of tidbits from Isaiah.

Isaiah 12:2 Behold, God is my salvation; I will trust, and not be afraid: for the LORD JEHOVAH is my strength and my song; he also is become my salvation.

Isaiah 26:4 Trust ye in the LORD for ever: for in the LORD JEHOVAH is everlasting strength.

Thread: ONE Gospel - FROM God - THRU Jesus - Taught by ALL of the Apostles - NOT Just Paul - Bible Study

And to prove my point further, look at the names of the places given in these verses.

Genesis 22:14 And Abraham called the name of that place Jehovah-jireh: as it is said to this day, In the mount of the LORD it shall be seen.

Exodus 17:15 And Moses built an altar, and called the name of it Jehovah-nissi:

Judges 6:24 Then Gideon built an altar there unto the LORD, and called it Jehovah-shalom: unto this day it is yet in Ophrah of the Abiezrites.

Abraham, Moses and Gideon ALL KNEW the Father's name.

Jesus preached oneness with his God.

10Remember the day you stood before the Lord your God at Horeb, when he said to me, “Assemble the people before me to hear my words so that they may learn to revere me as long as they live in the land and may teach them to their children.” 11You came near and stood at the foot of the mountain while it blazed with fire to the very heavens, with black clouds and deep darkness. 12Then the Lord spoke to you out of the fire. You heard the sound of words but saw no form; there was only a voice. 13He declared to you his covenant, the Ten Commandments, which he commanded you to follow

15You saw no form of any kind the day the Lord spoke to you at Horeb out of the fire. Therefore watch yourselves very carefully, 16so that you do not become corrupt and make for yourselves an idol, an image of any shape, whether formed like a man or a woman,

39Acknowledge and take to heart this day that the Lord is God in heaven above and on the earth below. There is no other. 40Keep his decrees and commands,

1God presides in the great assembly;

he renders judgment among the “gods”:

2“How long will you a defend the unjust

and show partiality to the wicked? b

3Defend the weak and the fatherless;

uphold the cause of the poor and the oppressed.

4Rescue the weak and the needy;

deliver them from the hand of the wicked.

5“The ‘gods’ know nothing, they understand nothing.

They walk about in darkness;

all the foundations of the earth are shaken.

6“I said, ‘You are “gods”;

you are all sons of the Most High.’

7But you will die like mere mortals;

you will fall like every other ruler.”

for all the nations are your inheritance.
