Isn't that the truth! Thank you for your prayers for her.

Okay, so she may need surgery tomorrow and this thread has had its emotional highs and lows so here is some humor I feel I must add to 'lighten the room'.

This was outside in the courtyard out my wife's window. Who puts a twenty foot tall statue of a giraffe positioned so that it's looking into a patient's room!?!?!?

The nurse and her were laughing yesterday when I told the nurse she could have fun if she is assigned to the patient in the room beside Mrs. Louis' and they freak out seeing that looking in the window when they open the blinds.

The nurse could say "What do you mean a giraffe is looking in your window? There is nothing outside but trees and tables." chuckle

:Giraffe1:

There is also a life-sized mama elephant with baby in the same courtyard. They had peacocks in a different one when I was there a decade ago, but they died of old age and were never replaced.

I'll update once the surgeon(s) have spoken with me. Her mood has taken a downturn and she's not too happy to be texting or calling me at the moment. I should be there by 5:00 PM EST and hopefully she or the nurse(s) in whereever she has been moved to will be able to enlighten me on her current status.

Glad to hear you both slept. For a cute surprise, maybe bring her a little stuffed giraffe. I know adults should be immune to the endearing effects off stuffed animals but they work well for me so maybe for others too. Kind a sentiment that says that you are there with her even when you are not. A reminder of sorts so she doesn't feel so afraid when you are forced to go to work.

Re: GLP, I humbly ask your prayers for Mrs. Louis. UPDATE: MRS. LOUIS IS HOME!!!! THANK YOU FOR YOUR PRAYERS.
Everyone hold on, please!

I'll know what is going on when I get there, I've only heard from her, not the docs so she may be mistaken about the need for the move, I'm only going on what she has texted me and the doctors have been pretty much speaking with me vs. her because of her pain meds.

If it was urgent, I believe the surgeon would have called me.

I'm leaving my office at 4:00 to get some things at home then proceeding to the hospital.

Re: GLP, I humbly ask your prayers for Mrs. Louis. UPDATE: MRS. LOUIS IS HOME!!!! THANK YOU FOR YOUR PRAYERS.
I'm at my office ATM, and Mrs. Louis has texted she is being moved to a room in the cardiac suite as it now appears the open-heart surgery is on the table. I'll post updates as I learn more. I'll be back at the hospital in about two hours ~ 5:00 PM US EST 24 April.

------------------------------------------------------

Mrs. Louis' heart surgery is delayed. They are doing a catheterization NOW, followed by an MRI which may be today or tomorrow, so her surgery is postponed possibly until Thursday.

They wish to be evaluate all avenues before beginning any cardiac surgical procedure so they will obtain better imaging of her heart to insure they are indeed seeing a clot and not a muscular thickening in one side. This will also give a better view into where any possible opening between chambers is located and will allow them to determine the best course of action to follow be it surgery or blood thinners if the Cath and MRI show surgery to not be necessary,

Please know your prayers are not wasted; indeed the doctors are being guided to seek further information before proceeding. God I'm sure is guiding them to the correct conclusions and decisions.

-------------------------------------------------------

I know that the collective will and prayer of GLP'ers can and does work tremendous good, I'm asking your prayer help for Mrs. Louis as she has been hospitalized since Monday for intestinal bleeding which they have yet to find but today she developed a blood clot in her left leg femoral artery.

She has been rushed to surgery as they need to remove the blood clot. The procedure is starting presently.

She is at one of the top hospitals in the country so she has the best medical staff treating her, but arterial clots are especially dangerous.

I ask you please take a moment to include her in prayer for health, a successful surgery, and the determination of and cure for her clot and bleeding.

Thank you all and God Bless you.

Re: GLP, I humbly ask your prayers for Mrs. Louis. UPDATE: MRS. LOUIS IS HOME!!!! THANK YOU FOR YOUR PRAYERS.
Thank you FP; Mrs. Louis likes your Av btw.

The catheterization went well, and they are leaning towards it looking more like something attached to a wall in her heart perhaps a fatty deposit.

well I do not recall his name we were told the number one cardiac MRI doctor in the US will be coming here tomorrow to do a cardiac MRI and evaluation of Mrs. Louis.

The doctor said today that it requires a reconfiguration on the MRI machine for higher resolution he said something about changing the magnets but I suspect it's something about changing the detectors.

In any event she is on hold still getting IV fluids and a transfusion and the MRI will hopefully reveal that she does not require heart surgery. The doctor said that some people spontaneously can form clots while it is unusual, it is a possibility outside of this coming from her heart so they need to look very closely in detail before deciding if surgery is a necessity.

Again my most profound thanks to everyone for your prayers. Hey if she doesn't need the cardiac surgery that right there could be a pretty good indication the prayers are working! But I already know they are so it looks like I won't really have any updates until tomorrow following the MRI.

Thank you for keeping her in your prayers, she has so needed them.

Very nice prayer. I will as well.

Know you’re getting lots of helpful advice here so I’ll add my 2cts. May be a bit late but I am what they call a hard stick as well. When I was hospitalized they sent an anesthesiologist to numb areas so they could put line in etc. Made it easier for them in long run not being in pain. Again take care of yourself too and no need to respond. Praying all goes well with the best possible outcome.

I love the idea of a little stuffed giraffe for Ella! Have you checked out the hospital gift shop? They may have little stuffed animals, maybe even some giraffes. dogcat

Re: GLP, I humbly ask your prayers for Mrs. Louis. UPDATE: MRS. LOUIS IS HOME!!!! THANK YOU FOR YOUR PRAYERS.
I apologize for my delay in updating everyone, it was important to spend time listening to my wife and hearing about her tell about her day.

Her MRI showed NO BLOOD CLOT IN HER HEART!!!

The CT showed something------>Your numinous prayers------>MRI now finds no clot.

Thank God, Jesus, and all of you.

I was not here when the doctors spoke with her so I was unable to ask questions of them so I've no first hand knowledge of what they are leaning towards. During the nurse turn over after I arrived they said no invasive procedure is indicated yet.

aren't we. Having something to cradle will make her feel
more grounded. She will think of your's and God's perfect
love as she hugs her fuzzy toy. A wonderful idea.

Yes! And a blanket from home! There is no shame in a fuzzy Wuzzie! Especially the when it helps you.

I had not considered that, her semi-feral kitty is curled up in her sofa blanket at home now pining for her.

So glad to hear it went well

Praying for the best tomorrow!!!!!!

Heavenly Father,

Please take the surgeon’s hands and guide them. Please give the surgeon the blessing of your divine guidance, make his eyes alert, his hands skillful, and his mind quick and focused. Please give the surgery team the strength, expertise, and tenacity for a successful surgery. Please help the patient to be strong and have a quick and pain free recovery, a long and joyful life, and many beautiful memories to come. May the Lord bless this family.

In Jesus’s name

Amen

Very nice prayer. I will as well.

Know you’re getting lots of helpful advice here so I’ll add my 2cts. May be a bit late but I am what they call a hard stick as well. When I was hospitalized they sent an anesthesiologist to numb areas so they could put line in etc. Made it easier for them in long run not being in pain. Again take care of yourself too and no need to respond. Praying all goes well with the best possible outcome.

Thank you D, I hope all is well down South at your home as well.

Hi Louis, just checking in to give you and Mrs. Louis a hug, catch up on the latest developments, and let you know that we are still here behind you two, praying for your strength and a successful outcome.

I love the idea of a little stuffed giraffe for Ella! Have you checked out the hospital gift shop? They may have little stuffed animals, maybe even some giraffes. dogcat

I believe I will buy her one, the sell them at the 'Tractor Supply' store we like to shop at. She can never have enough tools, so we go often.

Tell Sue she is in my prayers.

Thank you for your prayers, and I did. thumbs She has a long name if all is included so she goes by her nickname vs. her first name.

Until your military service has required you neutralize enemy combatants and invaders in the defense of your country,
don't presume to tell us that have defended you that you don't support every shot we fired to eliminate that enemy.

What a nice idea! A giraffe and her favorite blankie - I would love that if I were there. Such nice thoughts from lovely people for Mrs. Louis.

Louis, praying for her, and for you, and the kitties and the unexpected "pet". May you all do very well and soon be home again happily and in good health.
Prayer is the most powerful force on earth.

I sign all karma given. Would that those giving it to me followed suit.

She may read the thread yet, but I'll not push her, she starts crying each time she reads a few posts.

I'll hear first hand from the doctors tomorrow and give a more indepth update.

Also thank you to whomever pinned this again.

I'm overwhelmed by the prayer and support, I can understand why it makes her start crying.

She just had an IV dilaudid and is watching shows on ancient civilizations as she (we both) have great interest in our past and the civilizations we descended from.

She learned today opossums eat spiders and ticks--we have HUGE spiders in Virginia and many black widow ones too and she got Rocky Mountain Spotted Fever from a tick that bit her out in the yard.

She says the opossum-come-pet is now allowed to remain living in the back yard. I put out enough food so he and Mr. Blackwell the feral cat would not go hungry while I'm away.

I'm PM you Pooka about something we discussed a few months ago soon, I still have some queued to answer.
