Real estate is awesome. Another option he has is to rent that one out and buy another one. By the time he did that 5 times he'd have $4000 a month coming in AND $500,000 in assets. And he could do that year after year. In 20 years he could have 30 properties worth 3-5 million AND $20,000 a month in rents coming in.

In an era when Monumental Fraud is the hallmark of every wall street vehicle, there is no corelation to "investing". There's no Blue Chip anythings anymore... Huge multiples required to buy stocks in the firms that (for some reason) seem to have staying power... Huge Risk in buying anykind of bond.

There is no vehicle for "investing"... Ordinary Life insurance turned out to be one of the most solid vehicles you might ever have bought, with its guaranteed interest performance and dividends from participating policies or mutual companies.

Northwestern Mutual Life actually bought $400 million in gold some 10-15yrs back...

Willing to bet that 90% of "investments" are turned-over before they're eligible for Long Term Capital Gains tax status; unless they were inherited. Too much risk to hold anything over 6mos. Exxon/Mobil is now regarded as risky... Wasn't General Electric delisted from the DJIA?

Look at all the Looting that took place from 2008... Lehman was a hit & run job, like Bear, Stearns... Merrill, Lynch taken over. All these formerly Blue Chip regarded entities were simply targeted by the Usual Gang... Merrill was literally "given" to Citi or was it BOA?

An "investment" was something of longterm stability and safety.

Corporate Bonds never were insured up until a short time before AIG retired Hank Greenberg and was coopted into insuring Bonds & Derivatives... The whole idea of a "bond" was you had to do your due dilligence and only Blue Chip Corps were able to issue bonds.

The entire financial system is a Potemkin Village, just there for appearances.

The market is a criminal enterprise which The Big Boys have manipulated to enable continuous siphoning of money and assets, not only from "investors" but also directly from the U.S. Treasury.
