Here in the east people get solar and don’t understand the contract. You pay for the system the utility company gets the electric. You are a contract supplier of green energy. In a power outage your system disconnects from the grid & sits there. It’s not hooked up to you house & you’re not allowed to use it. You are paid in energy credits. If you let the panels get dirty, covered in snow or clouds come to visit too often. You won’t supply you quota. Your credits will be less and you can get fined.
