My dad started eating again !

My dad has been sick for years (post car accident )

My mom called me today and told me that my father isn’t eating. He can no longer swallow and is only taking sips of water.

My dad is refusing a peg tube (don’t blame him). So I don’t know how much longer he has with us.

Here’s a little back story .


My dad got into a car accident in 93. He was 32 years old. He was on his way to work and an unlicensed 18 wheeler driver hit him. He has been in the wheelchair since then. He’s with it mentally, but not physically.



I never remembered my father when he was able to walk. He’s been in a nursing home for ten years now. He’s a great father. I’m his only daughter and youngest . just hope he makes it to see other milestones in my life (marriage, kids , graduating from college and etc)

Unfortunately life is full of surprises. I have to stay strong for my mom. I can tell it is hurting her more than anything .

I saw my dad today. He looks so tired. He isn’t even eating although he tried. He’s also slower to respond
