I just Gave Facebook A Piece Of My Mind | |
Anonymous Coward User ID: 77610968 United Kingdom 05/04/2019 09:16 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | So, I get on Facebook for my daily check of family and friends post, which is about all I use it for, and I see that they want me to take a survey. Boy, I'm sure they will regret that. Quoting: TrustNoOneKS So, the first question was what they could do to improve. I told them their censorship of conservative views. When asked to elaborate, I told them "Your overreaching liberalism is sickening to my stomach. The only reason I remain with your disgrace of a company is to communicate with family. You should be ashamed of yourselves. Propagandists at their worst!" From there, I went on to tell them that I feel like I have no control over my personal information at all, I found them to be not useful at all, I didn't think they were fun at all, I didn't find them to be trustworthy at all, that I didn't think they cared about their users at all, that I didn't think they were good for the world at all, and finished off by telling them that I didn't think they would take my responses seriously at all since they thrive on censoring conservative viewpoints. Screenshots of my responses on the survey: [link to i.imgur.com (secure)] [link to i.imgur.com (secure)] [link to i.imgur.com (secure)] [link to i.imgur.com (secure)] [link to i.imgur.com (secure)] [link to i.imgur.com (secure)] [link to i.imgur.com (secure)] [link to i.imgur.com (secure)] It sure felt good to give them a piece of my mind, but I bet they won't take it seriously and I'm sure they will figure out a way to only poll those with viewpoints to match their own in the future. I am 100% sure Facebook will ignore you. |

That's why I stay on Facebook. To keep up with family and friends. I don't trust the platform. Feel like it's a spy organization. I treat online platforms as if people could be spying on me through them. Hence my vanilla comments. I assume all of this is public information. Even if it will never be made public, there is always the possibility that it could. We all have to use the same discretion online that we use in personal interactions with people. Would you tell your innermost thoughts to a stranger at the grocery? Probably not. Why tell strangers online? Save your innermost thoughts for the few people in your inner circle whom you trust. This is probably even more important in an age when literally almost the whole world can find what you post online. |

If you feel this way, and I know I did, may I suggest you highly consider leaving Facebook. I did so about a year ago after not even logging in for about a year before that, and I really felt free and still do. I feel terrible for people I see that feel compelled to go check what family and friends are doing 247... reality is, if anything important or memorable really happens your family will call you and let you know or text. We are so interconnected anyways even without social media. Facebook is actually a social media that is actually dangerous so by leaving you are actually helping all those family and friends by being a good leader for your family. We need that platform itself to be deplatformed. |

Three weeks ago I shared an article telling of two beautiful Norwegian girls being beheaded while visiting a Muslim nation. BOOM I was not following the community standards. Put in the jail for four days. Then just got back shared another article which came past my homepage showing that Omar the Palestinian, AOC from a newspaper.. and BOOM off now for 6 days! Both these were articles already posted on FB I just shared. I hate the place and probably will simply not go back. GLP is far better at allowing freedom of speech and ideas. FB's little ban of merry liberal snowflakes sitting there banning one after another of people who are conservatives really pisses me off. Hopefully FB will go the way of My Space. |
