"BREAKING: Air France plane missing after EMERGENCY call over Iran"

The flight from Paris to Mumbai was tracked on radar flying through Europe and into western Asia before disappearing over central Iran.

It is believed to have started to descend unexpectedly over Isfahan.

Air traffic monitor FlightRadar24 said the plane’s signal had been lost.

The pilot issued a '7700 squawk', which indicates a general emergency before it lost contact, it has been reported.

The plane left Paris at 11:21am and was due to arrive in Mumbai at midnight.
