I just sent $400 worth of Bitcoin to a friend last night and did not have to go thru any 3rd party. The miners merely verified the transaction as legitimate. The fee was 25 cents.

The miners are their to secure the transactions. They are not in any way shape or form like a bank that has to be trusted not to abscond with your funds... like what is going to happen to your fiat that you are holding in one of the criminal banks in the up coming "bail in".

Man... all you no coiners are going to be crying when you go to the bank and try and make a withdraw and they limit you to $50 per day if you are lucky. While people with bitcoin have their bank accounts conveniently and securely held on the computers, ledgers or paper wallets.

Power goes out brah and we are all fucked and your money, whether it is bitcoin, gold, silver or cash will all be worthless. At that point lead, food and survival skills are what will be worth something.
