But is it really worth the effort? The magnetosphere will take hundreds of years to recoup (up to 2000) so the survivors will be bombarded by cosmic radiation let alone all the nuclear plant meltdowns. This will be not be very survivable. Food will be scarce. The only ones surviving are the elites because they have been preparing but even their odds are not favourable.
