Clearly bullshit and he's just backtracking because he's gotten a lot of bad local publicity out of this. He could have caught it in his net and stuck it in a cooler, or drained the live well and kept it there, until they got back to shore.

That said, I'm not losing any sleep over this. We exterminate raccoons all the time and nobody bats an eye over it. They are pests and carry diseases. The only thing different about this one is the method in which the offending wildlife was disposed of.

That was NOT a rabid raccoon. Raccoon was scared shitless and trying to keep his distance.

Yes, just cuter ones. As the person who made the video called them in the video title, around here we call them "Trash Pandas" because they kinda look like red pandas and they eat garbage. They are well-known for overturning trash cans and making huge messes which is the secondary reason, besides rabies, that we treat them as pests.
