He could have caught it in his net and stuck it in a cooler, or drained the live well and kept it there, until they got back to shore. That said, I'm not losing any sleep over this. We exterminate raccoons all the time and nobody bats an eye over it. They are pests and carry diseases. As the person who made the video called them in the video title, around here we call them "Trash Pandas" because they kinda look like red pandas and they eat garbage. They are well-known for overturning trash cans and making huge messes which is the secondary reason, besides rabies, that we treat them as pests.
