Muslims first prayed towards Jerusalem, same direction in relation to Saudi deserts as Petra.

Muhamad tried to convince the Jewish people that they should convert, so he tried to cater to them, but after they had refused, he slaughtered them and then changed the direction of prayer to Mecca to respect the center of pagan worship in ancient Arabia.

One religion's infidels are another religion's faithful - think about that for a moment!

Since God is the creator of ALL that is, there can only be one God - think about that for a moment! No matter in what name you worship! And realize how you live and what you do, how you treat all living beings is the highest form of worship. ALL is God's creation and none of us have the right to disrespect, harm or even destroy it. 24/7, 365 days a year - think about that for a moment!

If you can really wrap your mind around this you can't help but realize that defaming people who have a different way of worship, hating them, enslaving them and worse in the name of God only divorces you from all that is sacred and holy!

Persisting in this behavior once you know different and excusing these behaviors by claiming that God 'commands' it actually amounts to blasphemy. Or you follow a 'fake' god who is sadistic, unjust and a liar.

Having studied many belief systems ancient and modern there are many ideas about the nature of the Divine that are held in common going back as far back as we have records. It will tell you much about why we are here, what is holy and sacred - try it!
