history proves this much at least...all these devices had a similar ring when they too came out: direct tv=$600, betamax/vhs=$600, color tv 1963=$600, dvd player=$600, mobile phones/cell phones=$600: all of which eventually ended up being "free" to the consumer who simply signed up for "endless monthly charges".
