I haven't had time to go through the attached link in this thread, but I totally believe you. I just know that we have dodged bullets of ebola in the past, and I don't think we are going to dodge this one. Checking for fevers at entry points is useless, as a recovered person carrying the virus in their semen would have no fever, and a newly-infected person also would have no fever. Then considering all the persons crossing the border at uncontrolled sites, with God only knows what - this bullet is aimed right at us.

I'm very glad, Revbo, that you remain prepped. I am as well, though having given away a lot of masks I'd better see to increasing my supply.

Every day we can watch for a new thread with confirmed sightings of the ebola monster - so unfortunate. I think it is very close to time when we must begin going out only masked and gloved to do ordinary business like use an ATM machine or grocery shop.

Have you noted, Revbo, those in recent weeks saying that ebola only affects dark-skinned people? White people had ebola in the last big go-around and I have seen nothing yet that indicates it is not for whites. Have you?

I took 4 different flights during the last ebola scare. One was to Los Angeles and a woman in front of me who got on was coughing badly. I actually asked her point blank if she had ebola. I felt like I was flying in a giant pitri dish.

They talked about that last time. Supposedly, it’s some sort of genetic immunity. I don’t buy it.

Just don't dig up dead bodies and you should be ok. But Ebola is airborne... so be careful what you breathe. and prepare to quarantine. That means no one in or out of the house for weeks.

I know that several white people contracted ebola last time, so it's curious someone has in the interim come up with this "genetic immunity". Hope they don't believe it sufficiently to go without masks and gloves, thereby contracting and delivering the ebola they do not believe they can have.

Don't get me wrong, Pooka. I was all over the last ebola outbreak. I've still got the gloves and N95 masks for the whole family and a few miles worth of duct tape for sealing off windows in the doom kit, and I'm extremely concerned about this outbreak, especially since we have cavemen with rifles shooting it out right in the middle of the hot zone. This one is bound to spread. It's just not confirmed with this particular piece of news.

They were actually saying that during he last outbreak. It was a conspiracy theory that Ebola was actually what we called the Black Death during the Middle Ages. No idea where they got the idea that you can inherit immunity to a disease from your great X 18 grandpa.
