depends on type of grass. i have bermuda and use Scotts Turf Builder Southern Triple Action because we have fire ants here in texas. if you have bermuda and no fire ants, the regular scotts turf builder triple action is good.

i had tons of weeds in the back yard. used a weed puller over and over and they still came back. did one good treatment with the southern triple action and all weeds are gone. grass came in green and thick. we've had a lot of rain, too that has helped.

Walmart has the most bang for the buck. The long established company has way over inflated the price of their fertiliser.

Urban people usually have the benefit of not having much lawn to weed by hand.

I've seen chicken lawn fertilizer products for sale.

The hand weeding gets easier when you do it every year (as soon as weeds emerge), and the benefits are instant and you don't poison your land. I actually learned this from a GLP-er.
