A mans love for his best friend.

I was reading some eastern scriptures mostly Hinduism and found a story about a very pious man and he had a dog and his dog was his best friend. This man did no harm to anyone and cherished life. Well the time came when death comes a calling and the pious man dies . His dog also dies. The man is sad his dog had to suffer but he is with him now in death . So the pious man is at the kingdom gate of heaven or whatever it is called in these scriptures apologies . And the God at the gate tells the man he can enter but his dog can’t. The man, knowing only unconditional love from his dog , could not just abandon his best friend . So he tells the God I won’t enter then I would rather descend and be with my best friend there.

God then said for your loyalty and devotion you may enter heaven with your Dog.

I thought it was good story.
