How intelligence in evolution transferred its seat from instinct (psychic) to the brain

Our oldest ancestors were in close proximity to the lower animal kingdom. They retained many of the abilities found in animals, one of which was powers of instinct. They relied less on brain power and more on instinct power. Instinct actually is psychic force manifested in our flesh response to environmental stimuli.

As our ancestors evolved to become who we are today, the seat of intelligence shifted from the lower body, that is, below the head, to the brain. Brain intelligence cannot live in harmony with nature. It is impossible. And this is why we are building these artificial or technological constructs (buildings, social systems, political systems, colleges, etc). The converse holds true when we regress to what is called "barbarism" state. We become more in tune with the natural environment and less in tune with modernity.

I suspect the powers that be want to regress humanity to a quasi natural state, so that they can more effectively control us. You see, evolution had it so brain intelligence dominates instinctual or psychic intelligence.
