The club, painted purple and gold, was perched on a triangular traffic island in the middle of the Strip. It drew a crowd of mostly clean-cut teenagers and twentysomethings wearing pullover sweaters and miniskirts.

He mostly just reports facts. The weird details and coincidences come together to paint a whole different picture of what was going on back then. The book doesn't really reach any solid conclusions, or tie it all together. But it's a great read, and it sure raises a lot of interesting questions.
