It was unalcoholic wine. It would be called Juice in post-kjv english. Some of the romans attending the wedding thought it was alcoholic. It wasnt.

You have to know your limits. Not to say its wrong, but it comes down to what are you willing to sacrifice in order to achieve certain goals you have set for yourself.

For me in particular, alcohol impedes my ability to ascertain what direction I should go. Or even just going in any direction, but having that motivation to get up and move, is something the strong drink takes away from me.

Having only one kidney, I am more susceptible to the influences of the devil's water. The last time I really drank hard, I ended up having an emotional break, that could've costed me more than a relationship.

I can't control myself on the drink, and when I can, it only serves as a complacent comfort in order to make me want even more, later down the road. I can drink responsibly, but that isn't the point. The point is that day when I fail to drink responsibly, and either make a huge fool of myself, more than I already am, or I make a mistake that has a heavy cost.

These and other experiences I wish to avoid. So, I am willing to sacrifice my partaking in the carousing of others. Just because everyone is doing it, doesn't mean I have to. And although it loosens us up socially, and makes our inhibitions less pronounced, it just so happens to make us sloppy in the process, lowering our defenses, and opening the door for much heartache and sorrow.

No drink for me. But smoke? Oh yes. I'll keep that to keep me company. Mary Fucking Jane. How I love you so.



It also shrinks your frontal lobe, or so I've heard, and really makes being creative all the more difficult. Bringing up many ghosts from the past, and preventing us from achieving wholesome rest. Fuck liquor. And beer 'aint no better.

2-4 years later I can feel the destruction of the alcohol long after I drunk it- and how it slows my perception and intuition. Not to say that alcohol can't be beneficial for baked goods and sanitation- it's just not very palatable nor friendly as a substance to be abused.

This verse is in reference to alcohol being used to cook food during the tithes/first fruits festival. Alcohol at any other time, even when cooking things at other times, causes brain damage. It does NOT in the specific instance mentioned above. This verse is contextual, it does not apply to all times and 'whatsoever thy soul desireth' is contextual, it means whatsoever thy soul desireth in accordance with the will of God, which includes strong drink used for cooking, as that does not cause brain damage when alcohol is used for cooking during the first fruits/tithe festival.
