People talk about being alcoholic...yea at some point, your body craves it like any other addictive substance, but as far as i know...only alcoholics treat it like this life long changing thing...

My buddy was drinking heavily for years, and went to AA..he got sober..got his 5 year chip and all..but started drinking again...but it was moderate and what normal people do, he described it like people that have food addictions. its a lifestyle choice you need to make, similar to food.

Nobody is swearing off pizza and hamburgers for life, because they will relapse and eat 10 of them...

I get that your body can get addicted to alcohol, but does it change your DNA so you cant every have a drink again without becoming a full on alcoholic? I feel this is asubject people dont want to talk about, because they are either too weak to make a life decision, or just want to play victim and pretend it would consume them if they had 1 beer or drink ever again.

I understand terrible things happen with alcohol...i mean its the most popular, legal, drug in the world, available at every turn.

I drink alot, but mostly on weekends, especially if nothing is going on, but i dont ever drink and drive, dont get abusive, dont black out, dont do it EVERY day. For me its totally random...sometimes ill drink for 2 weeks straight, then i might go a month with out any. Sometimes its just social..If i go out to dinner, or over to a friends house..yea ill knock back a couple, but thats it, since i DO need to be able to drive home.

Anyways, I think ALcoholism is overrated, and is similar to Obesity in a sense, maybe Ive never truly experienced addiction? I dunno. Ive never had a problem stopping if I need to stop, but if the drinks are free, and I dont have to drive...bottoms up!

Sometimes if you feel an infection coming on in your throat, you can take a shot and its all better. Or ate something bad..

But also causes inflammation and a million other problems.

Drinking wine was ordinary in the Bible.

But being a drunkard was condemned and 1 Corinthians 6 outright dates that drunkards do not enter Heaven.

Why? It was hard to be a drunkard. Few had that much wine as raisins were a very important food source like dates. That is stored sugars and vital when nothing is growing or mature yet. So to waste food and be inebriated and likely winning was all bad three ways.

A family has a few grape vines and had to be careful and if there was extra, could make a little wine. Otherwise they had tontrade for it. It was an unusual to own entire vineyards. Likely to be a drunkard meant one was wealthy and out of control.

The wine ran out otherwise.

Intoxication is what the Bible says is sin, not drinking a glass of wine.

Study the Greek terms on those verses, it's intoxication that leads to debauchery, it's about not putting your mind in a state where you make stupid decisions that harm yourself and others.

Which is why I drink in moderation, but mostly use cannabis oils now (not smoking, as that's just nasty).

Or when I was on a mission trip in Peru, we drank coca tea, not extracting it into cocaine but using the plant in it's original form.

Saying entire things are "good" or "bad" is a lack of coherent thinking.
