Kamala was a citizen because she was born here, just her parents were not, she was born in 1964, the came here in 1960 that her mom, 1961 was when her dad came, the shortest time to be a citizen is five years if one is married to a citizen I believe it is. They were not citizens when she was born though not five years. Not everyone rushes to become a citizen they were professional people. Her mom and dad, separated and she went to Canada and the children went with her, 17 years in Canada for Kamala and her early education came from there. Maybe not, maybe those from the Caribbean are deemed to be black, I don't know but she claimed her heritage by talking about being bused. Historically was the issue of segregation only an African American issue or were others also affected? Were Indians (from India), Asians etc also suffering under segregation? And if you get right down to it, most blacks in this country have slave-owner blood in them because back during that time period, it was pretty common for owners and overseers to rape women and for the women to trade sex for easier jobs. Granted, they cannot help their great (however many greats) grandmothers did not have a choice, but that still does not negate that their grandfathers were slave owners.
