I watch a lot of cooking videos on YouTube & I'm pretty well versed in International cuisine. Well Suddebly the past few days I've noticed all these Japanese foods that have corn in the recipe. Has corn always been a staple ingredient along with rice in japan? It's kind of freaking me out. Could be a sudden fad, like how cheese suddenly got popular over there awhile back... But I didn't really think corn was even grown in Japan! WTF. sub veste, invenimus in homine. Sub hominem, invenimus ejus nucleus. |

The importation of corn from the Americas has been going on for a long time now. However, traditional Japanese cuisine should not include corn. And by traditional, I mean sticking to recipes that are 100 years old or better. |
