They are delicious and they sell out if they can get any. That night, I ordered 6 trees (gave one to a friend) from fast growing trees dot com. They were 6 feet tall coming off the fedex truck, and look to be doing well in the ground after a LOT of watering (it has been dry here in middle Tennessee). If things go well, we should actually have fruit next summer. ;-) If you remember this post in about 8 months, PM me. If we are getting fruit, I would be happy to put together a care package and ship some to you. It would be a fun way to bless a fellow GLPr... Aren't you kind!! Thank you so much, though I won't remember, but the warmth of the thought will stay with me. Your original post said your pears and peaches are nearly ripe - so I don't understand that you don't have any at this time. How wonderful that you have a ready-made market for your excess! I had not heard of this orchard site so am going to examine immediately. Hope your trees are everything you planned them to be! Sorry for any confusion, Pooka... I have not had any fruit yet... the trees were just planted this season. FWIW, I have been happy with fast growing trees.com Mostly because you can get trees that are close to bearing, instead of waiting 5-6 years or more... |

Thinking of your post, I picked up another jug today while I was shopping. We don't know if the water will be shut off, and if we can still use the drains, at least for a while, we might have "stuff" going down the drain accidentally, like little pieces of vegetable trimmings, etc. and need to unclog. Anyway, I am glad you posted so I am better prepared! Now that unusual extreme cold has hit where they hoped for a late corn crop, we are really in the stew. Being stocked is critical. I've done what I can, which isn't great, but we will not be looking for food in the critical time right after people run out of their three days' worth, and try to find nonexistent food in stores, which also had only a three day supply.
