Drinking alcohol, according to Steve Harvey and Dick van Dyke

I work with a lot of alcoholics; I am friends with alcoholics. I am family with alcoholics.

I took two quotes I found, that resonated with me, and I made a song with them.

I hope this post can help somebody, either now or in the future. God bless GLP.


Quotes:

"Well, I don't really know if you're going to be able to find a common spot, because let me tell you something about people that like to drink: people that like to drink, drink everywhere. (laughter) You can bring them on up to the church if you want to. They'll be in the parking lot drinking. Let's look at the upside to this....Take a shot every now and then, all the Christians I know drink. You are the only Christian I know that gave up drinking; have a shot every now and then."

[Dick Cavett:] Can you look at old shows that you've done, and tell when you were 'crocked', or were you?

[DvD:] Never! I was never crocked, (laughter) I love that, during work. I did not drink before work, or during work, or ever in the daytime. Which was my own particular cop-out. I said, 'I'm not one of those guys that's got to drink in the morning, and I do not drink in the daytime, or at work'.....

[Dick Cavett:] That's right, a lot of people say that: 'Are you kidding? I can go all day without a drink...'

[Dick van Dyke:] That's right! By gritting my teeth?

[DC:] And yet, they can be alcoholic?

[DvD:] Oh yes.....




I kind of agree with both guys; you should be able to have a drink now and then....but if you let it become a metabolic thing, it can take on a life of its own.
