Use any flavor broth instead of water. Lots of onion, and garlic. I like cumin as well.  The broth makes sense - change the taste - cook from the beginning in that, or add later? Loving onion and garlic, so that definitely works! I 100% agree with using broth instead of water. It's a game changer. I do it from the beginning.
