Nice observation. The interesting thing was right before the northern spread, there were a few quakes up there and then it just took off. At the end, you again see this happening even further north. I wonder if it will take off up that way as well.

i read la has talc in its bedrock so it shouldnt be a real bad hit but any zone without talc will get bad.

Here is an image of the initial 6.4 EQ seismograph on July 4th- this is NOT a normal earthquake signature- this is indicative of a massive blast-

It has also been essentially scrubbed from the internet, this is the only seismographic image I could find of that quake- all the others are from the 7.1 (which looks like a normal EQ)

Nature doesn't work in 'right angles' like that- my guess is the initial blast set-off a chain reaction, collapsing the massive caverns/tunnels under there.
