Thanks to criminals being coddled, unless one is personally known to their local police and the matter was discussed in advance, one should never call the police when killing a burglar or thief was the best choice in a given circumstance.

In my case I am recognized as legally handicapped and have the .Gov recognition for it with handicapped parking by the Virginia DMV.

A discussion at home with four of our county police when I called their supervisor requesting a meeting resulted in their telling myself and Mrs. Louis to "empty a weapon into any intruder in our home" as legally I have no means of egress because of my injury and they will gladly take a report and remove the body should I need to defend myself.

Literally a license to live if confronted by human trash--my kind of law enforcement!
