[ link to en.wikipedia.org (secure)] Nathaniel Kleitman (April 26, 1895 Kishinev – August 13, 1999 Los Angeles)[1][2] was an American physiologist and sleeSpamer who served as Professor Emeritus in Physiology at the University of Chicago. He is recognized as the father of modern sleeSpam, and is the author of the seminal 1939 book Sleep and Wakefulness.
In 1938, Nathaniel Kleitman and his student Bruce Richardson lived in a cave isolated from day and night tracking sleep and wake cycles along with body temperature all to understand circadian rhythms. What would of been interesting is the twilight areas of cave entrances of half dark half light. Where the changing temps, humidity, and light meets the constant temp, humidity, and darkness.
