Thinking about it, just finished underworld series and is about the old ways and lineage wanting to stay the same pull backwards with old lineages wanting power to create vast changes to push forward. Both at the same time with the ones in the middle unique not of the past nor of the future but in hiding because past wants to kill to keep old way and future wants to capture to change new way.
