Back when you posted that I had recently watched PraveenMohan's "Angkor Wat Everything you know is WRONG" video and he basically debunks the timeline story of Hindu to Buddhist control of Angkor Wat.

According to his analysis a very advanced civilization built it and many centuries passed before a primitive group of people claimed it for themselves(Buddhist).

It's funny, it has the same official origin story as Buddhism, a son separating from Hindu father...

Yes, that would be really nice if he made a video of that place. It looks amazing. I like how they noticed how it used to have a lake. I noticed many ancient structures did similar to showcase their advanced knowledge on geometry, mirroring the structure creating a more intricate shape.

Buddhist and emperor version on stupas:
According to Buddhist tradition, Emperor Ashoka (rule: 273—232 BCE) recovered the relics of the Buddha from the earlier stupas (except from the Ramagrama stupa), and erected 84,000 stupas to distribute the relics across India. In effect, many stupas are thought to date originally from the time of Ashoka, such as Sanchi or Kesariya, where he also erected pillars with his inscriptions, and possibly Bharhut, Amaravati or Dharmarajika in Gandhara.

Ashoka also established the Pillars of Ashoka throughout his realm, generally next to Buddhist stupas.


The first known appearance of the word "Stupa" is from an inscribed dedication by Ashoka on the Nigali Sagar pillar (spelled in Pali in the Brahmi script as 𑀣𑀼𑀩𑁂 "Thube" ).

"Lingam" is additionally found in Sanskrit texts with the meaning of "evidence, proof" of God and God's existence.

That's an interesting obelisk ship story, the Cleopatra. They built the ship around 'Cleopatra's Needle'. Hmm, yes miracle because the Olga's captain(was towing Cleopatra, takes more than 1 ship to move obelisks)
recorded that the Cleopatra was "abandoned and sinking" ....yet she floated for 4 days and found by Spanish trawlers. 1877

The obelisk ship link in your link tells only 2 recorded texts of ships for the 8 obelisks in Rome.

'There is little evidence of the great ships that carried the large obelisks across the Mediterranean. One of the two ships that carried the Vatican obelisk was purposely sunk by the emperor Claudius to build the Pontus harbor; the other burned down during Caligula's reign(36-41 CE). -from Pliny the Elder.'

Why move obelisks all over,
they're not very aesthetically pleasing. The documented in Rome were supposedly brought there anywhere from 10 BC-40 and Lateran(largest Egyptian obelisk in the world!) in 357(recorded by Ammiarus Marcellunus) and the rest were "found" from 1300-1800's. Found....(how do you lose an obelisk, especially if it's such an esteemed object of vanity)...
