Songs, at one time, were part of the secret knowledge when stories and customs were shared openly. The greed and psychological warfare became prevalent because of outsiders looking in. Then finally the information eventually went to Washington to be locked up with the pharmacopoeia. The thing is, another copy was made soon after by the same information bearer and that went to the library of bureau of ethnology.

It was a lot of stuff, not much October but one thing that stood out was him saying that Norse Seidr women are attributed with drumming and dancing but it was actually singing Interesting. It is said it was the women that remembered and still practice utilizing the song of the insects in order to move stone as well. It had to do with the timing of the broken back in the sky(constellation) position. Songs did have numerous attributes from healing to hunting, etc.
