AMAZING! A Fix for White Rings/Stains on Wood Tables!! | |
Anonymous Coward User ID: 75449616 United States 07/17/2019 11:00 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | This is amazing! Within a minute my table was restored! Hot iron dry setting without steam, and a dish towel or tea towel! Place the towel folded twice over the white ring water stain, and iron it with the hottest setting on the iron! Within 10-20 seconds, the white was gone! I did this on an antique quartersawn oak table. Quoting: abeliever A few Thanksgvings ago, some wonderful relative put a hot coffee cup on my oak table and it left a ring on it..ugh! I have been looking at it for years trying to figure out how to fix it. I saw this iron fix method on YouTube just minutes ago. I was scared to try it, but said what the heck, and did.... It works! White ring water stains GONE! Oak table just like new! Just HAD to share this with y'all!!! THANK YOU |

Caused a large cloudy white area. Looked up how to fix it and found sites saying to do what you did, fixed it in a second, totally worked |

We have a black dining table that a friend set a hot paper plate on to cut steak and left a huge white mark. Every time I set the table, I just get more aggrevated at my friend because it is in an obvious place on the corner and cannot be covered up with a placemat or table runner. I thought I had tried everything and was just short of sanding it down and repainting the whole thing. As soon as I read this, I jumped up to try the iron trick and it totally worked! Thank you! Anonymous Coward User ID: 76983957 United Kingdom 07/17/2019 02:18 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | When this happens to me, I usually create millions more ring marks across the surface, until the whole surface has been completely 100% covered by ring marks so it appears there are no ring marks at all. It seems a whole lot less trouble than this crazy assed idea of OP's described here. |

It's been posted here before, but, posts like this should ALWAYS be reposted for those who never saw it before and for new people to GLP. I think there should be some serious, GLP 101, Ultimate Pin threads, or Page of such threads, that should be on their own separate internal link here, for everyone to take note of. |
