Just keeps ramping up with all the volcanic activity .

I love the eruption in Mayotte area which went largely unnoticed to it being underwater .

Shows getting started !

Hope you are well!
Happy New Year!!

Hi, Friend :-)

Yes, it is ramping up now... rapidly...

I did touch up on the underwater volcanoes with an article I posted a few posts above...

We will be seeing a lot more activity from volcanoes underwater as well as the ones on land... even volcanoes that are/were previously known as dormant or possibly extinct...

Also, the earthquake activity will be ramping up... getting heavier in magnitude level causing more severe natural disasters...such as tsunamis etc...

The Mayotte underwater volcano status has risen some and it's status right now is restless...

Mayotte Island volcano

Shield volcano 660 m / 2,165 ft
France, Western Indian Ocean, -12.83°S / 45.17°E
Current status:Restless (2 out of 5)

A little background data on the Mayotte Island Volcano:

Mayotte Island in the Mozambique Channel between the northern tip of Madagascar and the eastern coast of Africa consists of two volcanoes with diverse geochemistry that were active from the Pliocene to the Holocene. Lavas on the NE were active from about 4.7 to 1.4 million years and on the south from about 7.7 to 2.7 million years. Mafic activity resumed on the north from about 2.9 to 1.2 million years and on the south from about 2 to 1.5 million years. Morphologically youthful-looking maars are present on Mayotte Island, and Zinke et al. (2003) found several pumice layers of Holocene age in gravity cores on the barrier reef-lagoon complex at Mayotte.

Thank you for bringing the this volcano up... many are unaware of the underwater volcanoes or their effects so it's useful to touch up on these also...

I'm currently looking into the Canadian Volcanic activity and Seismic activity as there is lots I wish to touch up on those areas...

Thank you, again...

I hope you're well yourself and Happy New Year to you and yours too!...

Take care! :-)
