Hoping some ladies chime in on a serious note.
To me anyway this is an area parents used to teach their kids but these days are divided by the feminist movement to -NOT- be that way.
More specifically I am curious if mothers today are teaching their girls to find a man -AFTER- 30, if at all. Seems to be what the millenials are doing - waiting until 30+ to seek out a real marriage.
Of course there are those who hook a guy to get prego and ass-rape his life so they have 'income' to look successful as a single mother, but that is not what this thread is about.

Taking care of your looks isn't spending $100 a week at the salon and putting on designer clothes. Eat healthy, stay fit.
Many women are stupid (relative to highly intelligent men). The higher caliber men do not want stupid women. They want women who can carry a conversation about something other than themselves or what their friends are up to. You are not going to attract that well-travelled, funny professional if all YOU do all day is work a boring office job and watch television when you come home.
Too many women try to be men. Men want women who are feminine. Who don't try to one up them, or act and talk crudely.
Now in defense of that, many MEN expect women to be more career driven and independent. That is not fair - women, especially feminine women, do not thrive in the sociopathic corporate world nor to they do well in the scheming, backstabbing public sector world where laziness is rewarded. Feminine women work hard, but they are not climbers, and male-tier ambition does not suit them.
The biggest complaint I hear from single eligible men: women are CRAZY or TRASHY. They put a premium on women with no visible tattoos, and women who are smart enough not to date players (especially black men, not to be racist, but the rates of stds and illegitimate children is higher). They don't want women with drug or alcohol problems. They don't want women who are 30 but still carry on like a teenager, acting like an animal by getting falling down drunk, or flashing her breasts in public, or yelling, acting up.
Act like a lady, and you will attract a gentleman. Act like trailer park trash and no decent guy will want you.
