If you want to get technical and actually understand what you're seeing, uses that same location. Most of the mirages, and like the video you posted the temperatures of the air and ocean are way different, producing a mirror effect which hides the true horizon. When the temperatures are the same you have a perfect shot and minimal refraction/mirage and will see the real horizon line which is MUCH further and higher. But on average the temperatures are different between the surface(ocean/ground) and the air which makes the mirage effect and hides the actual horizon.
