Perhaps others were still needing to contemplate the effects of their decision on loved ones that also suffered after their passing and had chosen not to come back.

Verbal testimony is the lowest form of evidence in a US court of law. For good reason. Maybe she just wanted to bounce back from her suicide attempt by writing a fanciful book. Like her Harry Potter so to speak. Being imaginatively creative in her writing TO SELL BOOKS. Or, maybe she really thinks that's what she experience because her brain was about to give out on her and was grasping at straws to keep those neurons firing. People "see" all sorts of crazy things when their brains are out of whack. I've never heard a convincing NDE case, and I spent some time studying them. It's all just first person testimony. Nothing that can be tested or repeated or falsified...next.

I don't think she is pushing a Harry Potter book series for profit and I felt her motives were pure to warn and advise folks away from the path of suicide.

I think the greater question underlying the discussion on suicide is the state of the dead.

I think you're correct here. I also think there's so much in the bible that is thought to be literal but should be understood figuratively. For instance, so many expect to see Jesus literally "coming on the clouds of heaven," but so few bother to look up what that really means!
