This has been going on a long time with prairie dog colonies in Colorado. Back in the 90s we lived in Westminster around 120th and Sheridan where there was vacant land (not any more) populated by prairie dogs that they said carried fleas with plague.

There was a company with big trucks that used hoses to suck the prairie dogs up then take them out to the eastern plains and release them. We all thought it was hilarious at the time.

They said they let them go somewhere else?! Wow. Nobody said anything?
