There is a clear pattern of bitcoin quickly raising up while the stock market does a little tumble. This is because millionaires and billionaires use Bitcoin as a store of wealth. When investors know the stock market is to go down, it appears as if many of them direct their money right into bitcoin. 9 BILLION dollars has shifted into bitcoin in the last 24 hours. So it does not appear to be a US only phenomena, but a global one where when the stocks go down, money is funneled into Bitcoin to help preserve $$ value.
