There were major issues with the rail networks the last couple of days too.

Systems just being tested most likely. The amount of power outages globally is striking.

Theyre seeing how bad things might get when a real outage happens.

Under the guise of bad weather here, a few hours and we're a broken country. It's worrying how unprepared these people are.

Yes, thanks to the miracles of modern science, using my mobile I went online to find the power distribution peoples' phone number.

Then I called them to ask when they were going to give me my lekky back.

They said within 3hours. It was actually out for only an hour in our neck of the woods.

That was a nasty hour but.
Damp, cold, windy, dark. No netflix and cocoa. No heating.

Great thing was 90% of my neighbours (tiny hamlet of 9 houses) were out calling on each other within 15mins,just checking everyone's ok.

That doesn't happen in cities. It only happens in civilised places. These are few and far between in Blighty now.
