I've fenced competitively but since I'm white working class, ethnic r.c., no one went out of their way to help me.

But I won my varsity bout right out of the gate.

Very little coaching. No family support.

I had to pretend that my weapon was an umbrella.

But I am a natural at the game.

Even as an older fencer, I was the one to fight.
I even dispatched a former IDF soldier, fast.


Fencing, like tennis, is mano a mano.

The refs should tighten up, as they have for tennis, but fencing is just not a popular sport.

And, yeah, the refs should have tossed his immature attention-seeking azz.

I considered trying it myself about 30 years ago when I was still in shape [I'm now 67] but the equipment was too expensive and when I walked into the local "salon" the attitude was so thick you couldn't cut it with a chainsaw let alone one of their one of their Rapiers.

That's exactly what he's doing. If Nike didn't have a fensing division they will soon. He knows at least 30 to 40 percent of the population will agree with what he did and so he's trying to capitalize on that. It's about money to him.
