That brings us to the point, why does China want Hong Kong so badly? To seize anything, it must have something of value. And the only things of real value in biological/evolutionary terms are land, resources (forests, water,) and females.

China took over Tibet in the past, because it had a huge land area full of natural resources.

Hong Kong has no land being so small, no natural resources and financial services are of no real value in the long run. Thus the only thing it has in surplus, as compared to China is females.
