Of course consumers are paying, and the money is going right back into the American economy.
You would prefer the money go to foreign economies?

Tariffs, not taxation of labor was the original plan to pay the governments bills. Instead, that was changed and the American people bought a huge hungry beast that operates in it's interest, not We The Peoples. It's being spent by bloated government that won't cut spend. It's not working no jobs are going to be coming back due to government regulations and taxes. If companies could make products American consumers could afford they would buy them. Trump is just taxing the people that can least afford it.
