Piss poor excuse for business owners. I run a manufacturing plant and offer full benefits and good salaries (yes salaries at a manufacturing plant). My neighbor makes this excuse that he hires illegals because no American wants to work in his plant, meanwhile he's clueless how to really run a business, because all he wants is ridiculous margins without thinking things through. The guy has ancient rewinder machines and all illegals operate them. Accident after accident and now he's complaining some high tech competitor moved in the city next to us. |

Who comes rolling through that door from the Temp Service is a roll of the dice that companies are seemingly willing to undertake just so that their "bottom line" can be bigger at the end of the year by not paying out the benefits, which are costly. So, even if the Hispanics' papers were good, they'd still be kept at arms length by being kept on-board through the Agency. Unfortunately, Hispanics take the brunt of being taken advantage of in the US because the market to pay them is lower than what they pay other ethnicities to do the same job. Most Hispanics, except for the drunks, figure the $10/hr is a come-up for them, so they do excellent work and are loyal. If only they'd gotten their paperwork in order instead of getting comfortable.... |
