Vietnam War, Indochina War, Korean War... are mini ideological war zone lest playing all out and escalating it to World War level with Soviet Union officially employing their own military force. At that level, nuclear exchange would be certain. 3. ChinCom has nuclear weapon now, but so are other countries nearby. The question is how far is their weapon range? When their so called supercarrier still run on oil instead of being nuclear powered! Don’t know what kind of 64D chess you’re talking about but China has ICBM’s. It's a long way to reach US homeland, while it's much closer for so called US allies to strike ChinCom first. It's not like people take turn to strike each other during war!!! There is a reason, the US pour money and placing military base around the world and making allies (quite few around China). Mobility is the key.
