Maybe I'm missing something... but didn't both Hong Kong and Taiwan declare independence from China decades ago? Chicom PLA propaganda. HK was a UK colony and assured by Chicom's it would remain autonomous after UK left. Taiwan is where the true Chinese Nationalists fled while Mao and PLA murdered millions of Chinese people. HK and Taiwan would rather die fighting on their feet than living on their knees. Right. So its much more like if Mexico tomorrow decided to invade and repatriate Texas, even though they already fought for and lost those lands permanently in 1848 when they ended the war with the US with the treaty of gudalupe hidalgo.
