I was young and had jumped a fence to get to a pond so I could go fishing. Well I was having a good time and didn't notice a storm coming in. It came out of nowhere and started pouring so I gathered up my stuff and ran to the fence. I chucked everything over and climbed the fence and jumped down the other side. As I was picking up my gear a bolt hit the far side of the fence and the whole thing turned white orange and buzzed. Next thing I knew it felt like I had been kicked in the shoulder. Like someone was going for a field goal. The thunder was instant and I first thought I had been shot then (wasn't supposed to be there). I ran squalling out of there and left all my gear behind. I never did tell my mom, didn't want to get in trouble but it looked like someone put out a cigarette on my shoulder. I was sore for a week after that.
