To the unknowing eye, you don't see it, but it was plastered thick in that film. Yeah it was everywhere in that one. Sure the guy wasn't real healthy and he was in his 70's I believe, but really? The heart attack came right after? Then again, maybe he knew his health was on the verge of failing him and that's why he made Eyes Wide Shut when he did because he knew it wouldn't matter. I don't think people have the best understanding of how creative artists like Kubrick work. Kubrick was up for almost a week without sleep trying to edit and finish the film on time for WB. It was a common habit of his. At his age he likely died as a result from complications of exhaustion. That's a big strain on his heart to stay up days at a time. Not to mention he took an excruciating 2.5 years to make the damn thing. Could the deep pedo state have poisoned him or contributed to his death over the content of his last film? I'm sure they were motivated, but this isn't likely given the fact Kubrick rarely left his compound after the shoot, and was usually among his own family. |
