Flash flood where I live!
We've had a flash flood in the town where I live. I just got back into town from Las Cruces, and a lot of the streets are under water, some of them are closed down, even main streets! There were cars on the side of the road. Dayum.

My SUV just went right through it all, big water spray!!!! I love my car....I just LOVE it!

Thankfully, only a little water got into my apartment. I was worried about that getting home...it took me almost a half hour to get home.

Heh, my phone keeps saying "GPS signal lost"....don't know what that means...I mean, how that affects me....but I'm home, and I'm not going anywhere until tomorrow morning.

It's funny, because we were heading back over the pass from Las Cruces, we saw the big clouds on the other side of the mountain range, and I said to my client, "Wouldn't it be funny if we got back to town and all hell has broken loose?"

hiding...and it was. The lightening strikes I saw heading back into town were something else. I saw one hit the side of a mountain and, boy howdy, it sent up some fireworks hitting the ground!

Heh, it's my first flash flood in Alamo, so I'm a little excited....ura

I'm just very relieved my apt. doesn't have a river flowing through it.....ohyeah

We get 'em too sometimes, come with the mid summer monsoons.
Thankfully I'm on high ground not far from a major drainage so I rarely get more than an inch or two of standing water.
Stay safe and keep an eye on those roads for washouts, they can completely ruin your day. rockon

I lived in Florida for 15 years, so I know how to drive in torrential rain....but this was something else! Right at evening traffic time. The rain was coming down in buckets.

The emergency alert says we're under a flood warning until 8:15 tonight.... :hiding: I just don't want my apt. to flood. I don't have to drive anywhere, thankfully.

All is quiet right now, and I hope it stays that way!

It's a bitch to drive in, my brakes were soaking wet, so squishy....jeez, especially with so many cars on the road, it was a wee bit scary, but I made it home safely!

Does anyone know how I can turn this "GPS signal is lost" notice coming from my phone?

I won't be able to sleep through that later, if it's still doing it.

Wow! Glad everything's okay!

We had a hell of a storm last night. Quite unnecessary at 2am. Had me worrying about a tree falling on the house.

Well, I know I probably sound like a freak, being so excited....this could be much worse, my apt. could be flooded. The backyard is completely under water. Yikes!

I looked at the doppler to see why they're saying until 8:15 for the flood warning, and I do see two more cells heading our way. The first next one is smaller - and can just stay that way - but the second one is about the size of the one that just passed trough.

I really hope it breaks up!

You should be able to swipe down the top bar and turn off the location button, (looks like a balloon) and it might stop.

I don't see anything like that, but I think maybe it has stopped. It hasn't said it since I last posted, and it was saying it about every five minutes.

Nope, just the rug is wet. It must've soaked up the water.

Heh, I was hard trying not to speed to get home to make sure everything was okay. I was envisioning my laptop being a fried critter because I had the surge protector it was plugged into on the floor.

I need to find a better place for that thing in the future, methinks.

What was great about it was the temperature dropped almost 30 degrees during that storm, and it's still cool. I have my doors open, and there's a lovey breeze happening.

This is a GREAT reprieve from the summer desert heat....rockon
