My rich father wants to take me shopping for a wardrobe at Costco....
Dude is stinking rich, but when the topic of shopping for clothes comes up, he wants to take me to costco. How should I feel about this?

If you are 18, be grateful. He has no obligation to buy you anything.

You should be grateful that he is willing to buy you clothes. He probably has done a lot for you your entire life. He may also be trying to teach you how to save money and understand the value of a dollar.

The rich don't get or stay rich by buying Gucci.

Get over it. Costco is fine.

Even when I was in the U.S. I would not shop at Costco for clothes because they cost too much.

It makes me feel unappreciated or undervalued.

A lot of it is still name brand clothes. Maybe not luxury brands but still fashionable none the less. I don’t care what the label says. If I like how the clothes look and I feel confident in them then what’s the problem? I’ve bought clothes from Walmart and get compliments on them.

It’s all about how you wear them.

Tell him to take you to Savers, they have used clothing that is really nice.

While you're at it quit being a douche, I actually love shopping there and make six figures. If I made more I might actually be more frugal.

You love shopping at Savers or Costco?

I loved Costco. I miss Costco. I pretty much have happy dreams about Costco.

I used to save so much money and shopping time by going there and buying everything essentially in bulk.

I <3 Costco.

If I was your dad I would take you to Goodwill and then maybe if you play nice a MacDonald burger, then if you pitched a fit I would kick your ass out of the truck and make you walk the last five miles down our dirt road home barefoot.

I buy my clothes from walmart. im wearing a $11 pair of shorts and a $5 basic t shirt with pocket. typing on a $80 dell laptop manufactured in 2010. all so i can save money for parts for my 65 mustang project. I think my new born baby daughter will get the mustang. my step son has spoken for my 78 chevy k 10 and my toddler said he wanted the old car, a 1930 model a ford. My dad was set on not buying us clothes after we were 12. mom would take us and spend a couple hundred for school clothes for us with the mention dont tell dad. If we were frugal we could get a bunch of stuff with that $200 if were were dumb we would have got some j's and a jersey.

Cry me a river..There are people with greater "problems" than yours..Perhaps your father is rich as you say because he was careful with his spending and is trying to teach you the same.

One day you will most likely inherit it all assuming there are no other children and you will probably blow thru everything in a years' time if that..

Grow up..He owes you nothing but to take care of you until you are of legal age..After that he could cut you off if he wanted to and considering the ungrateful snob he has raised he would probably be doing you a favor.

You want "better" (expensive) things? Go out and work for them you whiner.
