I have worked as a volunteer in feeding homeless people for over 30 years. Not in LA, in Florida. The situation in LA may be political. But here, it’s poverty brought on by poor choices from a variety of causes, drug and alcohol addictions, low IQ, mental illness.

People only choose to be homeless, when they don’t want to be in rehab, detox, jail or in a shelter with other homeless people because the company is pretty undesirable.

Folks who have made bad choices because of drugs, alcohol and mental illness have the ability to make better choices and get help from public programs.

Sometimes they have the misfortune of having more children for whom they can provide and the inability because of above bad choices to work or jump through the hoops of public services and their children are innocent victims in a bad situation.

If you have been in prison because of bad choices, your chances for homelessness are increased, if you don’t speak English, same.

If you are dumber than a box of rocks, it’s bad choices you can’t do much about.

But, the single most common reason for homelessness in the population I have served is lack of family or friend support. No homeless person I’ve met isn’t hoping someone they know will take them in. They either have alienated (used up) their family and friends or moved away from them and lack resources to get back home.

When you’re homeless, the series of unlucky events that make for a usual bad day...like you miss the bus, loose a job, become sick or hurt can become a dire event.

I feel really sad for their situation. I used to be a liberal democrat until I grew up and became not one. Life is hard at some point for everyone. People born with obvious disabilities (name any you like) are at a distinct risk for homelessness unless they have a caring and responsible family.

I don’t have a solution. Help where you can, but don’t be naive. A statue of Buddha, Jesus, or Stalin ain’t going to make the difference, I’m sure of that.

This is another part of the problem, relativistic morality. Believing in yourself as the highest arbiter and having no faith in a higher power greater than man or let alone yourself.

Making the self take the place of God as the ultimate authority lends itself to giving the State ultimate authority over many selves. That's a core axiom of Communism.

Bring back state hospitals for the mentally invalid, use those millions to educate the redeemable in vocational programs, place them with a living stipend until they are solvent 1-2 year limit. IF they are full on drug addicts and cannot be saved give them the Fentynal they desire and send them gift wrapped to heavens gate.

Place the others who can work and are not to ate up with disease in the factories hiring invaders, give those businesses the kiss of death, or offer they cant refuse. Either hire them and pay them fair wage, or go to jail for 30 years and have seizure of your businesses for human trafficking. Sweeten it with a tax break to supplement.

how can you take politics out of anything in the shithole, sanctuary state of commiefornia? politics of the left turned a beautiful place into what it is today.

Well, you are a prime example of what is wrong with our country. Society, with all of its laws, programs, and charity, allows IDIOTS, like you, to survive, instead of dying out due to their own lack of intelligence.

And, if that is not bad enough, society encourages IDIOTS to breed, and make more. It really is as simple as having good genes.

I worked as a Salvation Army truck driver when I was in my early twenties. You know, the truck that drives around to pick up the donated stuff. My helpers were homeless vagrants. I learned, through interacting with them, that the majority of homeless people are CRAZY, intelligence challenged, or actually like the complete freedom that homelessness offers.

I worked in a public school district, as an electronic tech, for 25 years. The students were 95% black, 3% mexican, and the rest were white. Public education is hurting our nation, not ritzy colleges. In fact, educators, by nature, are hurting this country. They, in general, are leftist democrats, encouraged to explain away actual facts about their students' intelligence and behavior. They have had over 50 years to develop little Tyrone into a learned, socially engaging person, like little Johnny, but they have FAILED!! MISERABLY!!!

These leftist educators use every excuse they can, like environment, lack of educational funding, poor teacher pay, when they know the real problem, but they just will not tell the truth.

Public education is MANDATORY. That, alone, is one of this country's biggest failings. Education should be desired, not required. When you pack a classroom full of students that don't want to be there, and have parents that have no respect for rules, cooperation, or any NORMAL social interaction, how do you think that is going to affect the other children, who are trying to learn. I can tell you, because I have seen it for years. The classroom devolves into chaos and bedlam. The really bad thing is, with programs, invented by educators, like NO CHILD LEFT BEHIND, the whole class advances at the rate of the SLOWEST student.

Dishonest Government is what is destroying this nation. Yes, I said government. Public education is just another arm of our government.

Poor dumb blacks think the government is out to get them, and the government does not explain to them that their behavior is what gets them into trouble. Plenty of politicians get votes by lying to these people.

When religion was removed from education, moral instruction went with it. Rich white kids have no moral base, and all they see is their parents total focus on material wealth. Self-centered egotists, who care about NOBODY! No wonder their kids are crazy and want to kill people!

In elementary classrooms today, kids are constantly bombarded with a theme: I have worth because I am.
When I was in school, I was taught that my achievement is what created worth, and without achievement, I was nothing. Which is the better path to a productive member of society?

The demoncats OWN Californication.

They OWN the results.

Most homeless people chose to be homeless...they decided it's easier to beg and panhandle and take advantage of others than to be responsible. The state of CA is perpetuating their ploy by giving them food clothing etc. But more than anything they give them excuses. If the states would cut off all aid to these vagrants the problem would correct itself and pretty quickly.
